Every single day we are bombarded with tons of ads. The average number of ads that we see on our social media account is around 5,000. I don’t know who came up with this number, but the scariest thing is that every single ad says the same. Same boring message, same format, same meaning. 

 

Our goal as a marketer is to cut through that clutter and the first important element that we have to take care of is - What are we saying?

 

Our message has to move through all this mess in the market and this means that we can’t be BORING! We can’t say the same that every competitor says, and the most important thing…we don't want to compete as the cheapest one! This is very low effort and injects a huge dose of insecurity.

 

Here are a few tips that will enhance your message to beat your competitors, making your message remarkable and intriguing.


  1. The message should be clear. Aim for the target and hit the bullseye.

A business has to be familiar with its target audience. This drags us to the second most important element - Who are we talking to?

 

Above 60% of the business owner’s ad budget is wasted on people with no bias to what they sell. Every single penny counts and it has to be forwarded there, where it will be doubled, in our case, to those who are most likely to become customers.

 

If you think that we can sell to everyone and that every single person can be your customer… probably you are wrong. It is borderline impossible to come up with a message that speaks to everyone and it actually also gets the attention of everyone on the market.

 

If I`m a fragrance collector and you start talking to me about how you have a special offer for a perfume then you will capture my interest. But if I don’t have an interest in this product, you can come up with the best offer on the planet but I will just move on.

 

Our message should be geared toward our target audience and disregard the rest.

 

It's worth repeating. If we sell drills, probably we want to sell them to men. If a woman wants to buy it - Great! We will sell it! But our message has to be designed to talk to people who have the highest chances of converting into clients.
